Jonathan (Jon) Potter is a General and Colorectal Surgeon with particular interests in colonoscopy, anorectal disorders, and laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He provides comprehensive colorectal and general surgical care, with a strong focus on access, quality, and patient-centred outcomes.

  • Jon is a graduate of the University of Otago, Dunedin School of Medicine. He completed his surgical training across New Zealand and Australia, followed by advanced fellowships in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery in:

    Since returning to Dunedin in 2013, Jon has held a clinical position at Dunedin Hospital, where he performs colorectal and general surgery as well as diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy.

    He also provides fortnightly clinics in Oamaru and performs procedures on the Mobile Surgical Services Bus, improving access to specialist surgical care for rural communities.
